Future-Preneurs Zambia FPSZ proudly participated in International youth Day commemoration on 12 March 2026 in Mufulira District, an important platform that brought together young people,
civic leaders, and development partners to celebrate and reflect on the role of youth in national development. The event also marked a significant
milestone with the launch of the 𝗔𝗨–𝗘𝗨 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, aimed at amplifying the voices of hard-to-reach youths and strengthening youth participation
in governance and community development.
Our participation was made possible through the support of 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧–𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐮𝐛 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭,
which seeks to empower young people and create inclusive opportunities for youth engagement.
During the event, the keynote address delivered by the Mayor of Mufulira, Mr. Kamanga, emphasized the importance of youth empowerment through practical
skills and entrepreneurship. He encouraged young people who have benefited from skills training under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to take
advantage of the program by applying for grants to establish small businesses using the skills they have acquired.
The event highlighted the critical role of partnerships in supporting youth empowerment and reaffirmed the commitment of stakeholders to ensuring that
young people are equipped with the opportunities and resources needed to thrive.
Future-Preneurs Zambia remains committed to working with partners and communities to promote youth participation, leadership, and sustainable development.

This project empowers marginalized youth, women, and people living with disabilities in rural communities across Copperbelt, Luapula, and Northwestern Provinces by strengthening their participation in governance and policy decision-making.
Many young people face barriers such as geographical isolation, limited economic opportunities, and lack of platforms to influence policies affecting their lives. Through leadership and advocacy training, youth-led advocacy hubs, policy dialogue sessions, and community awareness campaigns, the project equips youth with the skills and networks needed to engage with local authorities.
The initiative promotes collaboration between youth, policymakers, and community leaders to support inclusive governance and youth-friendly policies that improve livelihoods in rural Zambia.
Future-Preneurs Zambia (FPSZ) in partnership with Mufulira Municipal Council is implementing a civic education initiative to strengthen transparency, participation, and accountability in the use of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Many citizens in Kankoyo, Kantanshi, and Mufulira Central have limited access to clear information about how CDF works. FPSZ is addressing this by simplifying and translating CDF guidelines into Bemba and conducting community engagement activities.
Through community meetings, roadshows, and simplified materials, the project empowers citizens—especially women and youth—to actively participate in planning and monitoring local development projects funded through CDF.
This initiative promotes sustainable livelihoods for women and young people through savings groups, entrepreneurship training, and access to small business opportunities.
The program helps participants develop financial literacy, improve household income, and strengthen community resilience through locally driven economic activities.

Mufulira and Across Zambia
Mufulira, meaning "Place of Abundance", is a historic mining town located in the Copperbelt Province of Zambia with a population of approximately 162,889 people (2021 census).
The town was established in the 1930s around the site of the Mufulira Copper Mine located on its north-western edge.
Mufulira is strategically positioned about 16 km from the border of the Democratic Republic of the Congo . It also serves as an important gateway connecting the Copperbelt Province to Luapula Province, making Luapula part of Mufulira’s commercial hinterland.
The town is well connected by road infrastructure:
These connections make Mufulira an important economic and social hub for surrounding communities, which is why Future-Preneurs Zambia focuses its community empowerment and governance programs in this area and across Zambia.
